Strong wind and avalanche danger in the mountains

Strong winds are blowing on the highest parts of the mountains in Bulgaria, announced the mountain rescue service.
The weather is not suitable for tourism, except in the Rhodope Mountains. There is high avalanche danger.
The weather conditions are relatively suitable for ski sports in the ski centres, where all equipments are operating, according to the meteorology conditions.

Pamporovo 2009/2010 Ski Season Opening
The most picturesque skiing resort in Bulgaria opens the new skiing season tomorrow 19th December 2009. The official program will start from 1.00 p.m. in front of Students chalet. Unique ski show will be performed by the leading ski schools in the resort.
The event will continue up on the slopes on Snejanka peak with a hot drink in “Zlaten Orel” (Golden eagle) restaurant.

Borovets Opens the Ski Season with a Snow Festival
The ski season in Borovets will be opened with the started of the lifts today, and the party for the official opening will take place on 20 December 2009, this Sunday. A snow festival with lots of surprises and attractions for everyone will entertain all guests of the resort.

The attractions in the snow park “Borokids”, the rope town “Boroland” and the shooting ground will be free.

Sofia's Vitosha Mountain opens ski season 2009/2010 with a night show
The ski season 2009/ 2010 on Sofia's Vitosha Mountain will be officially opened on 18th December 2009.

The event will start at 7 pm. The organizers from “Vitosha ski” have prepared a special night show on Vitoshko Lale slope.

A lot of surprises and entertainment, attractive ski and snowboard downhill and lots of music are just part of the program for the official opening of the new skiing season.
