The official opening of the ski season in Borovets will be held on December 14th, 2013. The resort will welcome all winter sport fans with a festive programme “Fire and Ice”. Guests will have the chance to enjoy hot wine and tea at the special Snow bar which will be constructed for the event. Happy hour is expected to be held between 5.00 – 6.00 PM when drinks will be provided for free.

World Ski Awards has recognised the very best in the global ski tourism industry during its inaugural Gala Ceremony at A-ROSA Kitzbühel this weekend. Bansko was listed as the best ski resort in Bulgaria, during the event. The resort was placed among the 20 most preffered ski resorts in the world.

Ski tourism figureheads and market leaders from North America, Europe Asia, South America and Australasia attended the World Ski Awards.

Borovets registered 16% increase in the number of early bookings for the New year holidays, compared to last winter.

The biggest increase is registered in the number of guests from Macedonia, Serbia, Romania and Greece. Early bookings from British tourists have increased with 15%. Inquiries from Turkey and Israel have also increased drastically.

Kempinski Hotel Grand arena Bansko received the biggest award in the category „The most preferred spa centre in Bulgaria for 2013” for a fourth year in a row. The award was granted by the prestigeous Spafinder Wellness 356TM.

The award is one of the most prominant recognition, which arranges the five star hotel from Bansko, next to the most attractive spa hotels in the world.

At least 20 million Euro will be the investment for the construction of an airport nearby the Musomishta village near Gotse Delchev. This was announced by an expert from the Civil Aviation Administration. The investor „Health and wellness” and has already received an approved general plan for the development of the airport. It plans complete rehabilitation of the runway of the former military airport. The runway is 2100 m long and is planned to be widened from 25 to 45 metres....
